Technologies That Have Affected My Major Field of Study
The category that comes to mind when I think of technologies that have affected my major field of study is: Technology as Knowledge. My major field of study is nursing. This relates to the know-how behind technological innovation. There have been several innovative technologies that has brought added value to the nursing profession. These innovations have helped the nursing profession specifically and patient’s in general. This research will look at a major technological effort that has impacted the nursing profession

ReplyDeleteNursing is an area that is constantly changing with medical technology. As a nurse you have the ability to learn new things on a daily basis. We are at the frontline of new innovations in any area of medicine you work in. As technology evolves, nursing evolves, what is a perfectly acceptable treatment today can be completely wrong tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteWhat type of department/floor are in working in? Do you have any new technologies that are being implemented in your department or hospital? For example we are trying to get a hypothermic resuscitation protocol in our hospital for our CVA, traumatic brain injuries, and cardiac arrest patients. The research is especially promising for this new idea of treating these types of patients.
Hey Laurie, I am a Case Manager. I manage a post-interventional unit and an ICU. The ICU does have a hypothermia protocol, for Cardiac patients and they are having very good results.
